Lot Description:Two Fine Old Small Animal Teeth Necklaces, that Were Collected on the Upper Brazza River Area, in the Remote Asmat Area of West Papua
I was told by people in the village that these animal teeth necklaces showed a hunter's prowess and abilities by adding the two front teeth of each animal killed to the necklace over a lifetime, the animals were hunted for food. When I first saw people wearing these in the village, I wanted to try & collect some but without success until they saw steel tools that they very much wanted to trade for.
