Notes:The making of Bark Cloth for ceremonial ornaments has a lot of work pounding the tree bark thin enough to be usable, then a tapa beater with incised designs is used to give it a pattern or designs on the bark cloth as with this example were several different design elements were possible due to the different carved profiles on this elegant old tapa beater.
