  this large and finely carved drum was made for a large mans, the designs are clan specific, no one would use another clan's drum during traditional ceremonies.

  Todd Barlin Field Collected 1986
• Notes:
  This drum was collected during the 8 months spent living with the Marind Anim people while documenting their Dema Ceremonies for a collection made for a major museum. The field photo is NOT the same drum but it was collected in the same time & area as lot 290.
