  • Notes:
The Toyota Supra now spans 5 generations of vehicular evolution, has a rich history in motorsport and gained the awe of movie goers in the Fast and Furious film franchise. First offered in 1978 as the Celica Supra, the first generation was based largely on the Toyota Celica with changes made to accommodate the inline 6 and make the car just over 5" longer. The second-generation car was produced between 1981 to December 1985 and was part of a complete redesign that encompassed the entire Celica range and now featured retractable pop-up headlights and all Supra cars were fitted with the inline six cylinder engine. The third generation, introduced in February 1986 saw the Celica and Supra bond completely severed, the Supra was now a completely different model. The engine was updated to a more powerful united and in 1987 a turbo charged version was made available. This generation was continued until December 1992. The fourth generation, and arguably the most notable and sought after Supra model was the A80. Design for the new generation started in February 1980 and by the middle of 1990 a final concept was approved, pre-production began in 1992 with full production underway in April 1993. The new and improved Supra shared its platform with the Soarer Coupe and was more than 13 inches shorter than the Soarer and now featured an exposed headlight design. Toyota placed great emphasis on high performance with the newly developed 2JZ-GTE twin turbo engine, the construction of the car now also featured more weight saving aluminium making the car around 90kg lighter than its predecessor and a better weight distribution. Updated in 1998, included a 3-spoke steering wheel, a redesigned radio, and VVT-i installed on the JapaneseTurbo Engines. The recently released fifth generation (2019) of Supra has ensured that the fabled name lives on. Bryan acquired this JDM Toyota Supra in 2004 as part of a swap deal with racing driver Jeff Munday for the Bryans successful 1980 Mercedes Benz 450SLC Sports Sedan. Jeff ordered this new Toyota from Japan to modify and race but when it arrived, they had erroneously sent him an automatic model. At that stage Bryan was racing a worked 600 HP Toyota Supra in the Procar Nations Cup Series and Jeff convinced him he needed to bookend the race car with the road car. The car is currently fitted with low profile Blitz performance wheels but is sold with 4 original factory wheels, an original sales brochure with applied Supra ; tec Australia affixed to cover, and book by Brooklands Books titled Toyota Supra Performance Portfolio 1982-1998. Presented here is a rare opportunity to acquire an unmolested, low mileage example of a car that is becoming a collectors car of the late 20th century. Dont look back in a couple years and say, "I wish I bought that car"! This vehicle is sold unregistered.
