Lot Description:An War Shield, Jufri Village, Junction of Pi and Unir Rivers, Asmat Region, West Papua, Early 1980s
significant 18cm phallic symbol projecting on top of shield. Motifs are unknown but design is unusual & not encountered elsewhere. Edges are decorated with plaited Sago leaves & colouring is rich rid on white powdered shell background.
