• Exhibited:

• Notes:
  Arthur Murch designed the mermaid figure c1947. In the late 1970s, he modelled a larger mermaid and produced a series in cast plaster and some in fired earthenware. In the 1990s, a bronze version of the mermaid was cast. These were 30x13x11cm in size and approximately 5 were made. In 2016 and 2018 Michelle Murch, Arthur's daughter, had a series of glazed slip-cast earthenware mermaids produced from a mould of the 1970s sculpture. This latest version is ceramic and in an edition of 12. Michelle Murch
