  This armshell (mwali) was obtained in 2007 at Kwaibaga village in Northern Kiriwina of the Trobriand Islands, the site of anthropologist Annette Weiner's 1970's research. This was personally acquired from their Trobriand owners by the private collector who is presenting them for auction.
