  • Notes:
The Porsche 911 was developed as a larger, more powerful replacement for the Porsche 356 and debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963. The earliest edition of the 911 had a 128 hp Type 901/01 flat-6 air-cooled, rear-mounted engine and displaced 1991 cc with a four or five-speed manual Type 901 transmission. It has evolved amongst the most successful competition cars of all time in racing, rallying and a range of other competitions. By the mid-1970s, 911 Carrera RSRs won the Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and NŸrburgring, even against prototypes. 2013 marked the 50th anniversary of the 911 with 820,000 built, one of the oldest sports coupé nameplates still in production. The G Series model series 1974 saw three significant changes to the 911. First, increased engine size to 2687 cc. Secondly, impact bumpers brilliantly integrated into the design remaining unchanged for 15 years. (colloquially called the big bumper cars.) Thirdly, K-Jetronic CIS Bosch fuel injection in the 911 and 911S models, retaining the narrow rear arches of the old 2.4-litre, now had a 2.7-litre engine producing 150 PS (110 kW; 150 hp) and 175 PS (129 kW; 173 hp), respectively. This Hamilton's Porsche Car Distributors Australian delivered 911S is beautifully maintained and we are advised by the owner, drives extremely well. The car is serviced by reputable Porsche specialists of Melbourne. Previously owned twice by the same Melbourne enthusiast who fitted the 5 speed manual gearbox (converted from the factory Sportomatic in 2007/2008) and re-conditioned the engine, it retains the original livery of Grand Prix White with Lobster interior, factory sunroof, air-conditioning and features the first lightweight seats with integrated headrests. Refurbished in all areas including interior finishes, comprehensive records and documentation accompany the car.
