  The Football Record: 1961 editions for the Home-and-Away Rounds, with St.Kilda the most frequently seen club
  2, 3, 5, 6, 8 (2 diff.), 14, 15, 17. Also, the extremely scarce Football Records for the Night Series games on 31st August (Collingwood v Fitzroy), 14th September (Collingwood v North Melbourne), 25th September North Melbourne v Geelong) and the Reserve Grade Grand Final 30th September (Geelong v St.Kilda). (Total: 13). Mixed condition.

• Notes:
  St.Kilda finished the Home-and-Away Season in Third position on the ladder, with 11 wins, and 7 losses. While Hawthorn won the Grand Final, St. Kilda won the Reserves Grand Final defeating Geelong by 10 points.
