Lot Description:A rare pair of late 19thC New Zealand Walter Slaney silver and greenstone knife rests
the silver ends as large fret cut, sculpted and engraved fern leaves connected by diamond section greenstone bars with applied silver collars and ‘NZ’, embossed ‘SLANEY’ to one end and ‘SILVER. STG’ the other. Length 100, height 55. Note: Walter Slaney founded his jewellery business in Queen Street, Auckland, 1881. Marked pieces of his work are rare. -
