    Gelede masks are worn by Yoruba dancers at festivals celebrating the elderly women, female ancestors and deities of the community. This ritual takes place each year at the beginning of a new agricultural season. The Gelede masquerade combines art and ritual dances to amuse, educate and inspire worship
