    A Set of Four Embroidered Silk Panels, 19th/20th Century
    each of rectangular form, the ivory silk ground embroidered in coloured silks with scenes of birds and plants, the many different species of birds shown in pairs, including phoenix, peacocks, roosters, cranes, pheasants, parrots, ducks and song birds, all in flight or perched among trees and flowering plants growing beside ornamental rockwork, including pine, maple, prunus, peony, rose, lotus and chrysanthemum, and with inscriptions naming 'Cai Yuan Xiu Zhuang', 'He Zhu Zhai', and 'He Bao Huan' and listing the auspicious meanings of the decoration, mother of pearl inlaid hardwood frames, one panel inscribed to the reverse (4)
