Lot Description:A white cotton gauze mid 19thCentury day dress with blue silk trim
comprising a skirt with cream silk petticoat, a peplum, a blue silk waist bow, a bodice with lace trim and bell sleeves, and a cream silk under-bodice with ribbon trim (silk under-bodice has some staining and splits to silk and lace coming away from neck edge) with a rare to be found matching bonnet. Underskirt is perhaps of a later date. This style of Victorian attire was designed for the tropics (7) -
