Lot Description:Japanese katana sword
souvenir from WWII, steel blade with cord tied wooden grips, partial remnants of ray skin on a brass tsuba and corresponding fittings, comes with partial leather bound metal scabbard, some wear to paint finish on scabbard etc, remnants of painted cord with character marks on hanging loop, blade is 68.5cm L, overall length is 95.5cm. -
Provenance:Possession of Captain Colin Salmon who was second in charge to General Robertson, 2nd 4th Australian Regiment, given to Captain Salmon by a surrendering Japanese Officer, and retained in family possession since
