Original design for the accompanying blotter card, An Ideal Cricket Eleven Series. No. 1: Dr W.G. Grace. Based on a 1908 photograph of Grace when he made his final first-class appearance for the Gentlemen of England v Surrey at The Oval. “An Ideal Cricket Eleven Series. No. 1: Dr W.G. Grace”, c1930s was the first in a series of cards for Stamina Clothes: A man of stamina. Ask for Stamina Self-supporting Trousers. Stamina Clothes, tailored from Crusader Cloth. Ideal for every wear, everywhere.” It is extremely rare to find Walter Jardine’s original artwork, especially in combination with a published example of the work. (2 items).
