    the shallow dish painted with the three plant friends of winter, the pine, the bamboo and the plum, encased within a triple ring border, the outer rim decorated with a continuous band of lotus and tendril scroll, continued verso, d 38.5cm

    PROVENANCE: Purchased between 1938-1970, The Estate of the Late Walter Hochstadter, hence by descent. A large number of the Hochstadter Collection was sold at Christies 18th/19th March 2009.
