Lot Description:CLIVE M. CALNAN - A FAMILY ARCHIVE 1930s - 60s
Clive Calnan was a life member of Henley Surf Lifesaving Club and Assistant Secretary of the United Trades and Labour Council of South Australia. He was a swimming instructor and judge at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The archive includes a club mascot of Henley SLSC in decorated plaster c1935, a photo of the Governor General opening Federal Parliament in 1936, a photo of Calnan at Henley SLSC launching the A.W.Jolly surf boat 1938, a Surf LSA instructor’s certificate 1941, a photo of Henley SLSC at Seacliffe Carnival 1939, a Royal Lifesaving Certificate signed by Mountbatten of Burma in ink 1952, 1956 Olympics desk calendar, etc. (qty). -
