  Dial: black Calibre: cal. 1575 automatic movement, 26 jewels Case: stainless steel Oyster case, solid case back Case number: 2216403 Closure: stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet with integrated folding clasp Dimensions: 39mm diameter, bracelet circumference approximately 175mm Signed: case, dial, and movement Accessories: Rolex Guarantee booklet which confirms the date of purchase of 18th August 1971 and service certificate Production of the reference 1680 first began in 1966 and was the first Submariner to feature a date function. The earliest of these models had the depth rating with meters positioned first, followed by feet rating. For a short period the word 'Submariner' was depicted in red on the dial of the 1680 and as such it is often referred to as a 'Single Red Submariner'. The present lot is the property of the original owner.
