Cartier's Art Deco period which the present lot draws from, took inspiration from Egyptian, Persian, Indian, Chinese and Japanese cultures and motifs. They were highly imaginative and fanciful, using a dazzling array of the finest jewels and precious stones in the most imaginative of ways.
