Lot Description:A Rare Betel Nut Lime Grinder & Spoon Measure, Bronze Alloy, East Java, Indonesia, 17th-19th Century
the cylindrical shape with a steel pestle passes through the cover & locks the mortar together, a circular grip at the upper extreme, a slender pestle & mortar cast with horizontal & vertical ribs. Note: Used to break up the coral to extract the lime & grind the betel nut for chewing.

Notes:Condition: Surface marks consistent with age wear, a good patina
