    A Wood Charm in the form of a Dugong, Torres Strait Islands, Australia
    includes custom-made stand. This small detailed carving depicts a swimming dugong. Native to Northen Australia and the Torres Strait, they were hunted as an important food source. Wood charms for success in hunting were used and several of these from the 19th Century are in the British Museum, collected by A.C. Haddon
