    Two Grand Army Of The Republic Badges
    circa 1900, both in the form of a 'Grand Army of the Republic' suspension bar with red, white and blue ribbons and a circular celluloid badge showing Union troops in a battle scene, pinned to white and black ribbons with silver lettering, one 'U.S. Grant Post No. 5, Philadelphia; the other 'H.L. Farmer, Post No. 16, Cleveland, N.Y.', on common card mount, generally very good condition, slight fraying to one ribbon (2)
    Both 21.5cm long
  • Notes:
    The Grand Army of the Republic was an organisation made up of veterans of the Union Army who served in the American Civil War. It was founded in 1866 and formally dissolved in 1956, following the death of its last surviving member Albert Woolson.
