    Grand & important sterling silver serving tray
    with inscription to the underside 'Presented to Col. the Hon. H.R.L. Alexander, DSO MC, by members of the Quis Separabit Club, on his marriage Oct 14, 1931, top of tray engraved with club motto, tray is hallmarked for London, 1931, with makers mark for Richard Comyns, also stamped London hand made, the recipient of the tray was later Field Marshall Harold Rupert Leofric George Alexander, 1st Earl Alexander of Tunis, he was an officer of distinction in both first and 2nd world wars and also served as Governor General of Canada, the tray was presented to the earl on the occasion of his marriage to Lady Margaret Bingham, daughter of the earl of Lucan, 44.2cm W x 38.8cm D, 4 x bracket feet, weight is approx. 2758 grams, appears in excellent condition
