  [Longman, Brown, et al; 1849 London.] pp.xlviii, 290. Complete with 2 woodcuts and 8 tinted lithographs as required. Bound in blue calf with gilt borders. Raised bands, gilt titles and ornamentation to spine. Gilt page edges. Foxing to some of the lithographs. A lively account of the author’s experiences and duties in the Hutt Valley and Wanganui areas whilst serving as an officer in the British Army in 1846-7.
