Lot Description:A fine gilt- bronze Amitayus, Khasa-malla Kingdom, Western Tibet/Nepal, circa 14th century
Finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne, holding a vase, his face with aquiline nose and downcast eyes in a serene expression, the hair neatly tied into a knotted jatamukuta behind a five-leaf crown, adorned with ornamental jewelry, including earrings, beaded necklaces, bracelets, armbands and anklets with inset stones, dressed in a diaphanous dhoti with the folds piled elegantly below the ankles; back half of the base painted red, the detached base plate reveals the consecration material, comprising predominately scrolls
