    [Adelaide, 1874]. South Australian Parliamentary Paper, small folio, drop title, pp.70 with folding map; half calf. Some very slight marginal staining at end.
  • Notes:
    The first printing of the great explorer’s account of explorations in central Australia, with W. H. Tietkens as second in command. Gibson’s Desert he named after his young companion, Alfred Gibson, who perished in its wilderness, and Giles himself barely survived.
