    Executed in Maningrida region, Northern Arnhem Land (#52); Private Collection; Aboriginal Art, Sotheby’s, Sydney, 20 October 2008, lot 194; Dr Paul Sutherland, Sydney
  • Notes:
    Descriptive label verso reads; “This rare marsupial is rarely seen and lives deep in a heavy forested valley in the area of Mook-Mook [sic.] the owl. The area is rocky escarpments [sic] and some deep valleys, with ancient caves and burial [sic.] sites in certain caves. These caves contained fossilised bones and ancient wall paintings, records of tribal history and religion [sic].
