Lot Description:A George II sterling silver tapering coffee pot by Edward Wood, London, 1746
engraved with a contemporary coat of arms within cartouche and motto "Gang Forward"
23 cm high -
Notes:The arms are those of Stirling impaling Scarlett. The houses of Stirling and Scarlett both held plantation estates in Trelawney, Jamaica. The Stirlings of Keir owned the Friendship and Content estates, and James Scarlett (d. 1798) owned the Thickets and Peru estates.
