• Notes:
  This is a beautiful issue of Postal Cards. There were 20 different views in both values. Robert Samuel states that 40,800 of the ?d & only half that number of the 1d were issued. Even without having regard to the view, they are very scarce. It is telling that Robert Samuel's vast collection included only eleven ?d & eight 1d cards. In Volume IX of the New Zealand Handbook, he was unable to illustrate views (L) & (t).Despite the 1d cards being much scarcer than the ?d, they generally sell for about the same prices as the ?d versions. A selection of eight unused ?d & three unused 1d cards sold at the Prestige auction of 8.5.2013 for an average of $428 each. Len Jury's almost complete set of 19 views in mixed condition sold in October 2015 - as one lot - for an average of £256 each.
