  FRENCH COMMISSION: Letter dated 6 October 1888 to Wm J Daly
  Melbourne from the Commissariat General de France advising him of his appointment as the Executive Commissioner for Algiers to the Melbourne Centennial Exhibition.
• Notes:
  Daly had previously acted as Executive Commissioner for New Caledonia at the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition. He had only arrived in Melbourne in early 1880, while en route for New Caledonia, but lost his money at the races and had to stay.
