  A Black And Gilt Lacquered Buddhist Shrine, 19th/20th Century
  the black base with three small drawers above two larger drawers supporting the gilt altar over three further small drawers, and surmounted by a tiered roof hung with gilt pendants, all enclosed by double hinged folding doors; together with a gilt lacquered wood figure of Kannon seated in dhyanasana with right hand raised in abhayamudra, wearing loosely draped robes, the face with downward gaze and the hair drawn into a high chignon, dressed with later filigree decoration (2)
