    18ct yellow gold, the oval form mother-of-pearl medallion modelled in relief as a Madonna, within a surround of seed pearls, signed 'F. Vernon' and marked ' Cartier 53217 18k France', together with an 18ct yellow gold chain, minor chip to medallion (2)

    Frédéric de Vernon (1858-1912) was a well-known French medallist. Cartier ordered a number of medallions made by Vernon and produced by Felix Duval. Vernon medallions were one of Cartier's most popular line in the early 1900
