    A Pair Of Hardwood Mounted Circular Porcelain Plaques And Stands, Late Qing Dynasty/ Republic Period
    each painted in 'famille-rose' enamels, one with two figures walking in the garden of a lakeside pavilion, another figure resting on a terrace nearby, the other with a sampan moving through a mountainous landscape of rocks and trees, each bearing an inscription in black, with wood mounts fitting in to the curved groove of the forked flat upright stand carved on each side with cloud scrolls rising from crested waves (4)

    In form the screens derive from smaller table screens made during the Qing Dynasty in various media to adorn tables in the Imperial halls.
