Lot Description:A South Australian silver presentation wine ewer by Jochim Matthias Wendt, Adelaide circa 1880
the baluster body heavily chased with scrolling foliage and flower heads, branch form loop handle and hinged cover with grapevine finial, engraved script presentation "Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of South Australia. Awarded to S. Smith & Son for White Wine full bodied at Wine Show held Jan. 1881. RD Rofs President, CJ Coates Secretary", marked "Lion Passant/J.M.W/Crown"
