  1889; Gun No.2; 12G; 2½", 1⅛ oz NP; 30" Whitworth steel chopper lump barrels, exc bores measuring 729, 728; choked approx CYL & MOD; faint Purdey address to rib; fern leaf fences in high relief; locks & action with typical best fine English scroll & floral bouquet engraving with traces of case hardening colour coming through; auto safety; exc walnut stock showing marble cake character; forend & straight hand stock both chequered; fine hairline cracks behind both locks; articulated front trigger; 14⅜" LOP, 6 lbs 12 ozs weight; action tight & barrels on the breech face. Presented in an oak & leather case; brass corners & re-enforced edges; red felt lined; with sml paper trade label; load label to #13363 & relatively new gold embossed leather trade label; accessories incl 3 pc cleaning rod & jags. Purdeys have kindly confirmed this gun was mad in 1889 to match gun #12250.
