Lot Description:“Linaeus” (pseudonym). The Parramatta River: a Sketch of its Attractions, Historic Associations, &c.
and a Glimpse at the Tennyson Estate with its future by “Linnaeus”. Quarto, two plans (one folding and with pencilled line in colour), five full–page tinted lithograph plates, stapled in original pictorial wrappers, the front wrapper detached and with small loss at corner. Sydney, Gibbs Shallard & Co., n.d. circa 1890s? A very rare illustrated prospectus for a land subdivision. This copy lacks the detachable ‘extraordinary inducement’ (pp. 23–26), the original possessor clearly having been extraordinarily induced. Ferguson, 16948. -
