    Quarto, handcoloured lithographed title-page and 13 handcoloured lithographed plates, in the original blue sand-grain cloth, gilt. London, Day & Son, 1867.
  • Notes:
    First edition: with a presentation inscription by Dr. Ferdinand von Mueller and a related three-page autograph letter signed. Between her arrival in Melbourne in 1857 and her return to England in 1867, Charsley painted a series of beautiful watercolours of native wild flowers that formed the basis for the fine handcoloured plates in this volume. Each plate is accompanied by a leaf of descriptive scientific text by Ferdinand von Mueller, to whom the book was dedicated. Ferguson, 8106a.
