    Howe, George. New South Wales Pocket Almanack for the year of Our Lord 1814
    Duodecimo, stamps on a few leaves including the title (this with a sealed tear), worn old half calf, ownership signature on title of Sydney clergyman and magistrate Robert Cartwright. Sydney, Compiled and Printed by G. Howe, 1814.
  • Notes:
    Rare: one of the earliest books printed in Australia and, frankly, about the earliest Australian-printed book still available. The almanac includes sections on “General Orders and Colonial Regulations”, “The Colonial Garden” (and so, one of the first Australian gardening books), “Shipping Arrivals and Departures”, and lists of the colonial civil and military establishments, among others.
