  • Notes:
First edition of the atlas volume to Bory de Saint-Vincent’s voyage account. Naturalist, cartographer, geographer and geologist, Bory de Saint-Vincent, was appointed chief naturalist to the Baudin voyage to explore the unknown coast of Southern Australia. Bory left the expedition at Mauritius, together with several of his fellow officers, owing to a very French falling out with the captain. Thereafter he visited Réunion and the surrounding islands in the Indian Ocean, illustrating numerous new specimens of flora and fauna in this account of his voyage. See Toussaint, D 181.
