[together with] The History of New South Wales, including Botany Bay, Port Jackson, Parramatta, Sydney, and all its Dependancies from the Original Discovery of the Island: with the Customs and Manners of the Natives; and an Account of the English Colony, from its Foundation, to the Present Time. By George Barrington; Superintendant of the Convicts. Enriched with beautiful Coloured Prints. Two volumes, octavo, engraved titles with coloured vignette, folding map, portrait and 25 coloured plates (one a little stained), full-page wood-engraved view in the text, bound in tree calf of the period (joints repaired). Notes:Second, first collected (and expanded), edition of perhaps the best known of all ‘Barrington’ pieces. This edition of the History includes a supplement “bringing down the History of the Settlement to the present Period of 1811” (Preface). Ferguson 486 and 487.
