Lot Description:1940 Packard Convertible
Packard is a name synonymous with quality American automobiles. The 1940 -41 are regarded as some of the most interesting and desirable in the company's long history. The 1940 One-Ten (1800) Packard drop head coupe featured a straight six side valve motor which developed 100 bhp at 3200 rpm. Fitted with a three speed manual gearbox and single barrel down-draft Stromberg carburettor.This Packard is one of just five brought to Australia in kit form in 1940 and assembled locally. The rear bench seat featured only in the export cars whilst US cars had fold-up rear seats. This car has had just four owners from new.Engine no. F7991Chassis no. F7991A very rare original right hand drive convertible in unmolested condition. Still on its original 6 volt system, resprayed in ivory duco, and with a new salt and pepper hood. Totally proffessionally restored in the late 1990s, the car has travelled very little mileage since. The vendor is only the thrid owner. Unregistered.Many spares available -
