  PHILLIP-STEPHAN: 'Bird's Eye View Melbourne' colour photo-lithograph c. 1890s
  with text including title below image; 29.5 x 34.5cms.
• Notes:
  Samuel Phillips, photographer, and Adam Stephan, lithographer, began working on their process in 1884, and in late 1887 formed a partnership. A Melbourne company was established in June 1889 and a Brisbane branch was also contemplated in that year. The building occupied by the Melbourne company was destroyed by fire in January 1890.
