Lot Description:A rare Hermannsburg kangaroo skin rug
only two other examples of its kind have been recorded which now reside in the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney & the South Australian Museum in Adelaide. Original Hermannsberg Mission label on reverse and in excellent condition. Together with a collection of artifacts including 2 spears, woomera, coolamon, message sticks, pointing bone, totem and a framed watercolour by Oscar Namatjira. This group of items was obtained at the Hermannsberg mission in the 1950s. -
