Much on the New Zealand Company's relief works at Waimea East and breaking in land at Riwaka; boat building, the hazards of navigation in the Marlborough Sounds and across Cook Strait, Pratt's first store at Lyttelton in advance of the Canterbury settlers, etc. AF.
