    2nd ed. London : R B Seeley and W Burnside, 1835. 8vo. 310p. Frontispiece, double map, hand-coloured plate, eight black and white plates. 6205. Green cloth. Some wear to binding. Sunning to spine. Mild foxing to contents. Yate's book, better written and printed than most of the period, is in five chapters, the first two being the customary formal description, followed by an extended treatment of the Maori, social life and customs, intertribal war, Hongi, etc; the second half of the text outlines the establishment of the mission, its extension to Kaitaia and Thames (Puriri) with much on the adoption of Christianity by various individuals. A handsome copy. G.
