Notes:The artist has invoked a legendary figure from the Ngarangani (the Dreaming) - Looma, the Lizard Woman, who drowned in a great flood on the Fitzroy River in an heroic effort to save her children. There are several versions of this story. One ended with the words: Òspread in death over the whole world ... all the voices died - even the fingernails.Ó The alternative title for this work is Lament for the Princess.
