Notes:This large format painting in an academic manner celebrates the gentrification of the antipodean landscape. A trout fisherman in blazer and boater hooks a trout in an area that Aucklanders celebrate as a wildlife reserve and wilderness area. The paintings source from an ‘art’ photograph by an amateur photographer graced the cover of The New Zealand Graphic & Ladies Journal of Nov. 24, 1894 surviving over 120 years because of the seven page article on the wreck of the Wairarapa. An original copy of the publication accompanies the painting
