  Photographs Of Pompei
  [Photographs] Pompei. Pompei, Morlicchio-Fiorani, 1882. 80 original albumen photographs of Pompei, with a title page which is also an albumen photograph of a printed title. Each photograph approx. 200x250mm, 8"x10", mounted on thin card, recto only, bound on tabs. Some of the leaves have been re-attached to the tabs with conservation tape. Red pebble-cloth album titled in gilt, marked and with some wear, base of spine neatly patched. Occasional marginal spotting but the photographs are clean with only a couple showing any fading. There is a thin margin with the title along the bottom edge of each photo but no photographer is named.The photographs are of the excavated ruins, statuary, frescoes, artifacts, and casts of the trapped bodies.
