DAVY, Sir Humphry, Elements of Agricultural Chemistry, in a Course of Lectures for the Board of Agriculture, London, Longman [&c.], 1813, 10 plates (1 folding), viii,323,lxiii,(4)pp., offsetting from plates, endpapers foxed, occasional marginal foxing, 4to., contemp. 1/2 calf & marbled boards, tips worn, joints split but very firm. The quarto first edition; later editions were 8vo. One of the few substantial collections of the great chemist's work published in book form during his lifetime. Nicely printed by Bulmer; WILSON, A.Stephen, A Bushel of Corn, Edinburgh, David Douglas, 1883, 3 plates, several tables, 4 folding, (20),346pp., marbled endpapers and edges, 8vo., contemporary 1/2 morocco, spine gilt with raised bands, and cloth, spine edges lightly rubbed. Gilt stamp of a parliamentary library on front board and at spine base. No other markings. Nice copy. -
