Lot Description:A Rare Adams Dragoon Revolver , c 1853
This revolver has the standard blued finish with single letter Ordnance sub-inspection marks on the barrel, cylinder, trigger guard, back strap and grips with the two-line "ADAMS’ PATENT No 12691. R." marking on the left side of the frame, designating that Robert Adams is the maker. The one-piece rubber grips have an oil finish. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped "DEANE ADAMS AND DEANE. 30, KING WILLIAM ST LONDON BRIDGE- in one line. The cylinder is engraved with "No 1269./R." A Crown over P is stamped on both sides of the cylinder. Details BBL: 15 cm, With Stock: 29 cm; Gauge: 50 cal; Finish: casehardened; Grips: Rubber; with a contemporary fur-lined carrying case. -
